Curriculum Vitae

Marcel Erlinghagen is professor of sociology at the University of Duisburg-Essen. He is also Fellow of the German Institute for Economic Research (DIW) in Berlin. In his research he focuses on questions about migration and integration as well as on questions regarding labour market mobility, job security and volunteering. He teaches various topics related to social inequality in the BA and MA programs at the University of Duisburg-Essen. He is also involved in the Research Training Group “Cross-Border Labor Markets: Transnational ‘market makers’, infrastructures, institutions” as one of the applicants. The Research Training Group, funded by the DFG, has been conducted together with the University of Bielefeld since 2024.
