Biodiversa+DNAquaIMG

Duration: 2024-2027
Current Phase: Mid-term

Summary:

The project DNAquaIMG aims at innovating transnational aquatic biodiversity monitoring using high-throughput DNA tools and automated image recognition. 14 partner research institutions from 11 countries are working together. The project uses WFD samples of diatoms and benthic macroivertebrates for image-based and molecular biodiversity assessment and their integration in the current WFD biodiversity monitoring. Together with standardization efforts, the goal is to develop a roadmap of implementation for novel methods.
