2020: Appointment at the UDE as junior professor for German linguistics, with a focus on Linguistic Integration
2019 - 2020: Lecturer / Researcher at the Center for Language in Urban Diversity, Humboldt-University Berlin
2015 - 2019: Post-doctoral research fellow at the Center for Multilingualism in Society across the Lifespan at the University of Oslo
2014: Promotion in General and Applied Linguistics (with distinction) at University of Vienna
2007: Diploma in General and Applied Linguistics (with distinction) at the University of Vienna
Activities
Judith Purkarthofer researches multilingualism and linguistic integration in education, with families and in other social spaces. PhD from the University of Vienna with Brigitta Busch, then research and teaching at the University of Oslo, the Humboldt University in Berlin and now as a junior professor at the University of Duisburg-Essen. She is particularly interested in participatory research and creative methods with children and adults, as well as in transfer projects between science and practice.
