With over 1000 students and 27 professors, the Faculty of Chemistry at UDE is one of the largest faculties at the University of Duisburg Essen and in the German-speaking world. Within this faculty, the subject of organic chemistry is one of the core subjects and is particularly responsible for basic and advanced training and, with currently 6 professorships and working groups, represents a high-performance environment in the field of research and teaching.

Your main tasks
Your tasks
- Carry out research tasks in the Voskuhl working group with a focus on:
“Development of luminescent photoswitches”
- You will be involved in the implementation and execution of courses such as laboratory and research practicals and supervise theses.
Your profile
- You have an above-average university degree in organic chemistry with a standard period of study of at least 8 semesters
- You have experience in the field of organic synthesis under inert gas and are familiar with the investigation and characterization of fluorescent compounds as well as the various techniques for the investigation of non-covalent interactions.
- Experience in the synthesis of photoswitches and the investigation of luminescent compounds using “state of the art” techniques is desirable.
As part of the job, you will have the opportunity to gain further scientific qualifications.
