You will also be responsible for planning and carrying out laboratory-scale AEM electrolysis experiments using model electrodes and model membranes. You will test the stability of AEM electrolysis on a laboratory scale as a function of the water components. Analyse the electrochemical activity of electrodes after prolonged electrolysis using different water compositions and the electrocatalytic activity of catalyst materials exposed to harsh conditions (simulation of the conditions in an AEM electrolyser during the shutdown period).

Another field of activity is the synthesis of electrodes by electrodeposition. Development of a high-throughput process for the rapid screening of catalyst materials on a multi-metal basis.

The electrochemical testing of different electrocatalyst materials, the data evaluation, the analysis of the results, the correlation of the electrochemical data with the structural data and the preparation of a manuscript are planned. It is expected that the data will be stored according to FAIR principles.

You will produce high quality publications in peer-reviewed journals and present results at scientific conferences and write manuscripts. In addition, contribution to practical experiments and supervision of bachelor and master students is expected.
