Colloquium
General Information
The research network organises an accompanying colloquium during the course of the project.
In addition to theoretical basics, the colloquium also provides insights into current research projects.
The colloquium usually takes place once a month, thursday from 4 to 6 pm (c.t.).

“It’s impossible for the conditions at the flea market to go on like this!” Conflict and Compromise in the History of Leisure Activity, Dr. Stefan Zeppenfeld (Ruhr University Bochum)Stefan Zeppenfeld is a member of the research project “Cultures of Compromise” and a research associate at Ruhr University Bochum. His dissertation at the University of Potsdam, titled “Vom Gast zum Gastwirt? Türkische Arbeitswelten in Westberlin” (“From Guest to Host? Turkish Labour Worlds in West Berlin”) (2021) was awarded with the Science Prize 2020 by the Association for the History of Berlin. He is currently working in the field of leisure time and conflicts of interests.

”Compromise in the Late Medieval Feud: Actors - Forms - Media”, Prof. Dr. Claudia Garnier (University of Vechta)Claudia Garnier, professor at the University of Vechta, researches particular cultural and social processes as well as communication structures in the Middle Ages and in early modern times.

“Between Fear and Arrogance: Why No Compromise is Achieved in the Israel-Palestine Conflict”, Prof. em. José Brunner (Tel Aviv University)José Brunner, Prof. em. in law as well as history and philosophy of science, is particularly committed to the rights of Holocaust survivors. His research focuses on the history of compensation for Holocaust survivors in Germany and Israel. He has also worked on topics such as the history and politics of psychoanalysis and political thought.
