Accountability of Data Science and Security Systems
Research into accountability, transparency and governance structures in data-intensive systems and security architectures in the context of trustworthy data science.
General Psychology: Cognition
Research into the cognitive-psychological foundations of human decision-making, focusing on risk decisions as well as the emergence and psychological mechanisms of behavioural addictions (e.g. internet use disorders).
Human Understanding of Algorithms and Machines
Investigation of human understanding of and trust in artificial intelligence and algorithms, particularly with regard to ethical questions and cooperation.
Computational Methods in the Modelling and Analysis of Learning Processes

Inclusive Technology and Collective Engagement
Research into and design of assistive technologies as well as the promotion of digital inclusion and collective participation of marginalised groups.

Human-centred research into and design of interactive systems, focusing on computer-supported cooperative work (CSCW), human-robot collaboration and augmented reality.
Entertainment Computing Group
Basic and applied research in the areas of game design, game development as well as gamification and serious games in educational contexts.

Research in the areas of technology-enhanced, immersive and interactive learning as well as computer-supported collaboration and media-based knowledge construction.

Investigation of knowledge and competence development regarding digital information technologies, focusing on social media and public online discourse.
