Since April 2024, MAARC has been working intensively on the research and application of artificial intelligence in the field of auditing. The aim is to make a significant contribution to improving the quality and accuracy of audits through the development of innovative AI tools and methods.

IKIM – Institute for Artificial Intelligence in Medicine

The Institute for Artificial Intelligence in Medicine (IKIM) brings together researchers from various disciplines to develop new methods and technologies, improve patient care and innovate training of tomorrow’s physicians and AI scientists in healthcare. The institute is part of the University Medicine Essen and the University of Duisburg-Essen. Special talents are supported by a DFG-funded research training group and five junior research groups.

The AI Centre in Duisburg

ZaKI.D (Duisburg Centre for Applied Artificial Intelligence) is a project aimed at implementing artificial intelligence on devices with extremely limited resources, such as sensors and smart devices. In collaboration with Fraunhofer IMS, the University of Duisburg-Essen and KROHNE Messtechnik GmbH, the project aims to circumvent data protection issues and offer new services directly within products or machines. ZaKI.D supports small and medium-sized enterprises in the region in integrating AI into their operations and products, thereby helping to strengthen the regional economy.
