Yanni Kühn

Yanni Kühn is a research assistant in EFL Education at the University of Duisburg-Essen. He studied English and Social Sciences with a teaching qualification for secondary schools and completed his Master of Education at the University of Duisburg-Essen. During his studies, he gained international teaching experience at a township school in Cape Town, where he worked as an assistant teacher for English.

After completing his teacher training (Referendariat) and second state examination at a comprehensive school in Gelsenkirchen, Yanni Kühn continued teaching there as a full member of staff. He taught English, Social Sciences, and Economics, further strengthening his understanding of diverse learning environments and practical school development.

In his current role, he is working on his doctoral project, which investigates communicative–cognitive activation in primary school English lessons based on a video study. His broader academic interests include digitalization, learning with media, and questions of instructional quality in the context of EFL Education.
