The transition from completing an undergraduate degree to pursuing a career in academia raises many questions : What qualifications do I need for a doctoral program? What does the path to a dissertation look like, and what career prospects does a doctoral degree open up?

Answers to these questions will be provided at the information event “Today a Student! Tomorrow a Doctoral Candidate?” on December 1, 2026. The event is aimed at female students in STEM fields and the social sciences who are considering pursuing a doctorate after graduation.

Following an introductory presentation, former and current female doctoral candidates from various departments will share their personal experiences and career paths. Participants will have the opportunity to learn more about daily life as a doctoral candidate, ask individual questions, and exchange ideas.
