Discourse-analytical Approaches to the Understanding of Democracy of Turkish Nationals in the Federal Republic of Germany using the Case Study Duisburg

In the context of my dissertation project, I am dealing with the question of what are the characteristics of the Turkish people's understanding of democracy in Germany?

In theory, the research project is based on a discourse-theoretical perception in the sense of Michel Foucault, according to which discourses are understood as carriers of knowledge formations and regimes, which form subjects, collectives and societies. In this sense, in addition to the discourse on democracy in Turkey, I am investigating the transnational transfer processes of relevant discourse content to the local diaspora community and possible internal community discourses on the topic of democracy.
