New opening hours:

On the Duisburg campus

Monday - Friday 9:00 a.m. - 8:45 p.m.
Saturday - Sunday 10 a.m. - 4.45 p.m.

On the Essen campus

Monday to Friday 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Saturday and Sunday 10 a.m. - 4 p.m.

On public holidays, please note the changed opening times and closing times here.

 

  • It is mandatory to book time slots here
  • A negative, certified corona test is required, which have not to be older than 48 hours. This does not apply to those who have recovered or who have been vaccinated.
  • Observance of the general, known distance and hygiene rules
  • Mouth and nose protection up to the training area and for going to the toilet
  • By registering, you confirm that you feel healthy
  • All cardio fitness machines may only be used for light warm-up training (maximum 20-30 minutes)
  • Showers are open, as no mouth and nose protection is worn here, please pay attention to the distance!
  • Changing rooms may only be used with mouth and nose protection
  • Bring your own drinks; the beverage plant is closed
  • Disinfect hands at the reception desk before entering the USC
  • Personal registration with the trainer staff when entering the USC
  • Training with a towel is compulsory

General
The university sports club is the university sports gym. Under expert guidance, the members train on strength and cardio equipment as required.

Registration
Registration for the USC takes place - like all other registrations for university sports courses - via the Internet and is possible at any time. Interested parties who want to take a look at the USC first and have not yet registered can also get advice on site.

Payment
The billing of the fees takes place just like for the courses in university sports by direct debit procedure, the collection of the fees for the standard and VIP subscription takes place monthly.

Termination
None of the subscriptions require special cancellation, but be careful: You must renew them in good time.

Starter package
... includes initial consultation and testing (subscription dependent), introduction to strength training, information on starting cardio training, use of the beverage station.

USC-members
All participants who have registered in the university sports club are referred to as "members". This does not result in any further obligations or rights other than those derived from the terms and conditions.

In addition to students from the University of Duisburg-Essen, students from other universities as well as non-university members ("guests") can become members if there is sufficient capacity.

All USC members are required to provide identification. A booking confirmation as well as student or service ID, possibly in conjunction with your ID-card, must be carried in the USCs.

Status 1:

  • StUDE: Students from the University of Duisburg-Essen, students from the Folkwang University of the Arts, students from the Ruhr West University of Applied Sciences, guest auditors, students aged 16 and over

Status 2:

  • Bed: Employees and pensioners of the University of Duisburg-Essen, employees of the Folkwang University of the Arts, employees of the Ruhr West University of Applied Sciences, employees of the city of Essen, employees of the FHöV NRW
  • StaU: Students from other universities / colleges, federal volunteers, voluntary social year, voluntary ecological year and trainees

Status 3:

  • Gäste (Guests): Other non-university members

Trust guarantee
means that it is possible to withdraw from the booking in the respective guarantee period. For withdrawals / cancellations within this period, only the price for the starter package (€ 10) and the fee for one month are charged in the standard subscription, in the VIP subscription the costs for the starter package and for two months of membership are charged. In this case the towel will not be given.
