For the fee-based courses, students, university members and guests pay different course fees. The stated course fee is to be paid once and is valid for the entire period. The debiting of due course fees takes place once by direct debit and is announced in advance by email (it is then no longer possible to change the IBAN).
We would like to point out that we incur bank fees for returned direct debits, which we will invoice the participant.
3. Registration
You can register for university sports events on the homepage https://www.uni-due.de/hochschulsport/welcome-page under the heading "Courses".
It is binding and obliged - in the case of paid courses - to pay the respective course fee. Withdrawals (see point 5) can only be accepted up to the second date of the event if the respective university sports office is informed by email, telephone or in person.
For registrations that are not made online, a processing fee of € 5.00 will be charged and debited together with the course fee!
4. Privacy
By registering, the person registering agrees that his / her data can be processed and used within the University of Duisburg-Essen in accordance with the data protection law of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia in its currently valid version.
5. Resignation
Course withdrawals can only be accepted free of charge up to the second event date!
Reimbursement of fees is not possible unless the course is canceled. In the event of sudden illness over a longer period, however, a partial refund can be made on presentation of a medical certificate. The university sports office must be informed of the rejection by phone or email.
6. Course cancellation
The courses require a minimum number of participants. If this minimum number is not reached, university sports reserve the right to cancel the course. The participants will then be notified and any course fee they may have already paid will be reimbursed.
In the event of more than two failures for which university sports are responsible, a credit can be issued after consultation, which must be redeemed within the next two event periods.
7. Insurance and liability
Students at the University of Duisburg-Essen and the Ruhr University Alliance are insured against accidents in University Sports in accordance with the statutory provisions of the Unfallkasse NRW (UK). In the event of damage, please contact the course management or the University Sports offices immediately (Essen 0201 183-7356 or Duisburg 0203 379-2256).
Students from other universities who take part in university sports courses at the University of Duisburg-Essen or USC (University Sports Club) are not insured through the Unfallkasse NRW.
In principle, there is no insurance cover by the Unfallkasse NRW for sports travel offers and in the USC (University Sports Club). We recommend using private accident insurance here.
For employees of the University of Duisburg-Essen, there is only accident insurance coverage from the Unfallkasse NRW under certain conditions, for example the criteria for "company sport" must be met. Information can be obtained from the Occupational Safety & Environmental Protection Unit (0201 183-3628).
Professors and civil servants are generally insured through the employer and in the event of damage / accident, please contact the Personnel & Organization Department of the University of Duisburg-Essen (Duisburg secretariat 0203 379-2136 or Essen 0201 183-2142) or the university sports offices.
In the event that statutory accident insurance does not apply, accidents and the resulting treatment and health costs are always covered by statutory health insurance.
In the event of damage, a hospital or a transit doctor ("Durchgangs-Doktor / D-Doktor") must be consulted, an accident report must be submitted to the Occupational Safety & Environmental Protection Office (Tel. 0201 183-3628) by the third day after the incident / accident.
The University of Duisburg-Essen accepts no liability for personal items that are lost during the course. We recommend that you do not leave valuables, keys and clothing in the changing rooms.
8. Course implementation
There is no entitlement to instruction from a specific course instructor. University sports reserve the right to make changes. There are no courses on public holidays.
9. Health-promoting courses in university sports
In cooperation with the VGSU (Association for Health Sports and Sports Therapy at the University of Duisburg-Essen e.V.), University Sports on the Essen campus offers health-promoting measures in primary prevention with appropriately qualified course instructors. Selected courses meet the legal requirements set out in Section 20 (1) SGB V and are recognized by health insurance companies as eligible for funding. With regular participation (at least 80 %), submission of the health check and submission of the completed participant satisfaction questionnaire (more information after registering on the participation ticket), a certificate of attendance is automatically issued about 6 to 8 weeks after the end of the course and after this is presented to the health insurance the cost will be reimbursed. Please inquire with your health insurance company about a cost sharing.
Please hand in the health check to the course instructor in the first course unit. Within the courses, you will receive a lot of exercises and information on the focal points of the lesson in theory and practice that can be useful in everyday life.
The completed participant satisfaction questionnaire must be handed in to the course management on the last course date.
► The courses are specially marked in the program.
10. Hall order
- The halls may only be entered with clean indoor shoes with non-staining soles.
- The halls may only be entered if the course instructor or person responsible for university sports is present.
- Devices may only be set up under the expert guidance of the course instructor.
- Smoking is strictly prohibited in all rooms and sports facilities!
- Bringing drinks in glass containers into the hall is not permitted for safety reasons.
- The road traffic regulations apply in the parking lots of the university sports facilities. Vehicles parked incorrectly or negligently can be towed away for a fee.
- The partition walls in the sports hall on Gladbecker Street / Essen campus must not be touched or shot at. In particular, it is not allowed to climb through between the partition and the wall.
- The information and instructions of the caretakers, sports teachers and course instructors must be followed.
Another important appeal to all athletes in university sports:
Please only use clean indoor shoes for indoor sports, which are not allowed to be left on "just from the car to the hall". When you do that, you carry thousands of small particles of dirt with you into the halls, on the floor of which other athletes then want to lie down or do sports barefoot.
