Empirical Methods Workshop

Everything about field research – by Dr Kathrin Thomas, Center of Comparative Social Surveys at City University London. Date: July 11–14, 2016, 8 am –1 pm. Venue: LB 239

The GRK 1613/2 "Risk and East Asia" will host a 4-day workshop in empirical methods for the members of the research school. Up-and-coming researchers will be given hands-on training enabling them to read, understand, apply and interpret findings from their field research. They will learn qualitative and quantitative interviewing techniques which will enable them to produce research of the highest standards. Finally SPSS will be introduced as a tool for analyzing their data.
