CRC 1242 Childcare
For researchers with children there are various opportunities to enhance family and career. We provide a kids room with additional emergency childcare. Also, it can easily be used as a parent-child-office.
Childcare Room
The University of Duisburg-Essen and its Colloborative Research Centres follow the plan for the promotion of women and welcome both parents and their children. The CRC 1242 offers a fully furnished childcare room to enhance a family friendly environment and flexibility for working parents. From infancy over toddler age to primary school - all children are welcome.

The CRC 1242 KidsBox
The KidsBox turns every office, seminar room or other places into a kids friendly environment. CRC members can take it any time and move it easily on four wheels.

Family Service UDE
The Family Service offers employees of the university a contact point for questions and concerns regarding the compatibility of family and career.

With our DU-E-KIDS, the UDE offers its employees a childcare service for children aged 0-3 years and thus provides support for returning to work.

The University of Duisburg-Essen offers the children of the members of the university a varied vacation program throughout the Easter, summer and fall vacations.

If an acute childcare emergency arises or if regular childcare is unavailable, UDE family members can fall back on our back-up care in cooperation with pme Familienservice.
