This event is aimed at all UDE members involved in administration and administrative tasks. The aim is to learn more about the use of generative technologies, to improve participants’ own practical skills, and to engage in a collegial exchange on the potential, challenges and risks involved. We are delighted to have secured Prof. Dr Malte Persike from RWTH Aachen University and Michael Prill from the University of Bonn to deliver keynote presentations.

Thursday, 18 September 2025, from 10 am to 2 pm

The online event was primarily aimed at UDE teaching staff. In addition to practical tips on using AI in teaching and information on services offered by the UDE, examples of good practice in teaching were presented. Particular attention was paid to the societal implications, with a focus on education and democratisation.

Monday, 16 June 2025, from 10 am to 2 pm

The event is primarily aimed at students. As well as a general introduction to the basics of text generators, practical tips on prompting and literature research will be provided.

In March 2025, the online event “AI in Research” took place. Researchers were given practical guidance on the use of ChatAI, insights into how neural networks work, and the opportunity to engage in specialist discussions within the social and medical sciences. The aim was to make the opportunities and methods offered by artificial intelligence in research more tangible.

In December 2024, an introductory event on the UDE’s AI portal took place online, during which the topic of AI was explored from various perspectives. Following the welcome and keynote presentations, AI was examined in four breakout sessions, which were organised under the headings “Research”, “Teaching”, “Studying” and “Administrative Activities”.
