than Max Czollek. A poet and the author of the 2018 polemic Desintegriert
euch!, Max Czollek is a millennial advocating for a new vision of Jewishness
within German culture and breaking with the politics of the Jewish establ-
ishment to do so. I will discuss Czollek’s positioning between German and
American identity discourses and the common criticism that he has im-
ported American political themes into a German context, as well as the
complexity of his Jewish identity claims. What is Czollek’s vision of
pluralism, and is there anything German about it?

Both the increasingly globalized job market and the continuous advancement of academia require graduates from research-focused master programmes with competencies in more than one culture and language. By guiding students towards independent, competitive research projects and by teaching exclusively in English, students’ intercultural competencies (esp. in terms of Anglophone Popular Culture) as well as their problem-solving skills are advanced and strengthened. Since organised thinking and theoretically informed approaches to complex problems are necessary for both areas, the MA programme prepares students for a career in the academia as well as the job market beyond the university.
