Our principles and procedure
Principles
Consultation with the Ombuds Office is confidential and based on the principles of fair procedures and transparency. You may present your case anonymously, of course.
In each individual case, however, it must be determined whether relevant information can be provided and thus a solution reached if the specifics of the situation are not described.
All the bodies involved in solving the problem or conflict are obliged to maintain confidentiality.
Please note that the advice we give is not legally binding.
Procedure
After you have described your situation in a meeting or an email, Ombuds Office can start the procedure. First, we check the formalities to see whether the documents submitted are complete and the case has a chance of success.
If necessary, after thoroughly reviewing the facts of the case, we gather statements regarding the complaint or conflict from the people or units involved. This happens only with the student’s explicit consent. If it is not possible to reach a satisfactory solution, I can offer to moderate a discussion between the people involved.
You can, of course, request information about the status of the case at any time.
Documents
Please send me all the relevant documents in advance or bring them with you to the consultation so that I can start working on your case as quickly as possible. These may include, for example:
