Network Function Virtualization

Future network architectures supporting Internet of Things (IoT), 5G, 6G and Fixed-Line-Network are expected to meet diverse service requirements such as Latency, Reliability, Power Consumption, and Resource Consumption in various scenarios. One way to overcome these challenges is to adopt Network Function Virtualization (NFV), Software-Defined Networking (SDN) and Multi-access Edge Computing (MEC). NFV is a promising approach for providing elastic network functions. With the development of NFV and SDN, Internet service providers (ISPs) are increasingly placing the Virtual Network Function(VNF) instances at the network edge to provide network service.
