In the master's programme in Dutch Studies (2-subject Master's in Humanities), the subject Dutch Studies is studied in combination with one of the following subjects: Philosophy, Anglophone Studies, Christian Studies, French Language and Culture, German Studies: Language and Culture, History, Communication Studies, Literature and Media Practice, Spanish Language and Culture. The subject Dutch Studies is offered as a full- and part-time programme (study over 4 or 6 semesters).

In the subject Dutch Studies, you will deal intensively with the literature, culture, history and language in the Netherlands and Belgium; you will also be introduced to smaller research projects. The 3rd semester is studied at the Radboud Universiteit Nijmegen. The cooperation agreement between the University of Duisburg-Essen and the Radboud Universiteit Nijmegen ensures that sufficient study places are available, and that the semester abroad can be completed without any loss of time. This also allows you to develop your foreign cultural and intercultural skills.
