The institute stands for a socio-economic approach in dealing with economic phenomena. Economic issues are pursued from an interdisciplinary and pluralistic perspective at the interface of economics and social sciences.

Your main tasks

• Research and publication activity in the area of Socio-Economics and/or Political Economy
• Participation in the theoretical and empirical research agenda of the Institute for Socio-Economics,
• Participation in the acquisition and execution of third-party funded projects
• Contribution to the department’s teaching obligations and administrative duties
• The position will offer the possibility of scientific research and qualification.

• Forschungs- und Publikationstätigkeit im Feld Sozioökonomie und/oder Politische Ökonomie
• Mitarbeit an den theoretischen und empirischen Forschungstätigkeiten des Instituts für Sozioökonomie
• Mitwirkung bei der Einwerbung von Drittmitteln und der Durchführung von Forschungsprojekten
• Vorbereitung und Durchführung von Lehrveranstaltungen, Verwaltungsaufgaben

Your profile

• Successfully completed course of study of at least 8 semesters (Diploma course, MA, or similar) in economics, sociology, political science, history, mathematics, statistics or comparable subject
• Experience or skills in one (or more) of the following areas: Socio-Economics, Political Economy, Heterodox Economics, Econometrics, Economic History, History of Economic Thought, Macroeconomics, Distribution, Ecological Economics, Mathematical Modelling.
• Experience and skills in data analysis and software (preferably R, Python or Stata)
• Very good command of English and/or German
• Ability to work independently and reliably.
• Good communication and team work skills, high motivation
• Motivation to teach; demonstrated teaching ability of advantage
• Scientific publications, experience in the acquisition and execution of third-party funded projects of advantage

• erfolgreich abgeschlossenes Hochschulstudium im Fach Volkswirtschaftslehre, Soziologie, Politikwissenschaft oder einem anderen einschlägigen Fach von mind. 8 Semester (d.h. Diplom, Master o.ä.) oder Promotion in einem dieser Bereiche
• inhaltlicher Bezug auf Sozioökonomie, Politische Ökonomie, Ökonometrie, Heterodoxe Ökonomie, Verteilungsforschung, Wirtschaftsgeschichte, Geschichte des ökonomischen Denkens, Ökologische Ökonomie oder mathematische Modellierung: Ausgezeichnete Kenntnisse des ökonomischen Forschungsstands innerhalb und außerhalb des akademischen Mainstreams
• überdurchschnittliche empirische Kenntnisse, insbesondere der Ökonometrie, Statistik und angewandten empirischen Wirtschaftsforschung  (R, Python, Stata)
• idealerweise bereits Erfahrung im Verfassen von wissenschaftlichen Artikeln und im peer-review Prozess; Lehrerfahrung mit Bachelor- und Masterstudierenden.
• Fähigkeit zum selbstständigen und eigenverantwortlichen Arbeiten
• Interesse an Vermittlung von Forschungsergebnissen (Presse/Funk/Fernsehen/neue Medien)
• sehr gute Englischkenntnisse
• Teamfähigkeit und Leistungsbereitschaft bei der Bewältigung fachlich anspruchsvoller Aufgaben
• hohe Motivation zur Mitarbeit in Forschung und Lehre
