We are happy to welcome you to the website of the Sustainability Process (Nachhaltigkeitsprozess, napro) of the University of Duisburg-Essen.

The sustainable development of the society is one of the major challenges of our time. As one of the youngest and biggest universities in Germany, the University of Duisburg-Essen (UDE) is aware of its examplary function and considers itself a mediator and sensibilization agent of today´s and future generations.

We consider the sustainable development of research, teaching and administration a task of great responsibility which equally involves students and employees to support and guarantee the diverse exchange of knowledge, perspectives, and talents for the future.

We are UDE. Sustainable.

As a partner in the HOCH-N - network, we want to anchor sustainability at universities. The universities play a special role as social actors when it comes to sustainable development. They train future generations of leaders, experts and teachers and fulfill an exemplary role as civil actors oriented towards a sustainable society.
