Yasmina Bouziani

I am a 2-Fach Master student of Anglophone Studies and Communication Studies at the University of Duisburg-Essen. As a student assistant, I am part of a team of tutors who offer student-led tutorials to the “Introduction to Linguistics II” lecture. I also code data for the LaVaLi project.
In my studies I am particularly interested in the intersection of sociolinguistic variation and sexuality/gender, as well as interpersonal pragmatics.

Robin Collin

I'm a Bachelor's student of Anglophone Studies and Communication Science at the University of Duisburg-Essen. As a student assistant in the sociolinguistics lab, I am involved in vowel annotation. I haven't yet specified my interests too much, but I am a big fan of geminates.

Zoe Räkow

I am a Master student in English and Chemistry with a focus on secondary education (Lehramt Gy/Ge). As a student assistant in the Sociolinguistics Lab, I contribute to the LaVaLi project by coding negation-data using ELAN. I am fascinated by how language change unfolds within socially marked varieties and how linguistic forms come to index social identities. My personal ares of interests include how these patterns of variation can be integrated into educational contexts, especially in fostering linguistic awareness.
