Career Day 2025

The CRC1430 PhD Career Day was held on May 16th in our very own UDE library, gathering over 25 participants!
The event kicked off with the seminar "Score your first job: the application phase", providing participants with the tools to stand out in the job market. After lunch, six invited speakers from both within and without of academia presented their post-PhD career journey, giving attendees real-life examples of what they can expect after graduation. Speakers then gathered together for a panel discussion, answering more general questions from the audience about their career paths.

The event finished up with a group dinner at Brauhaus Dampfe, providing a casual atmosphere for both PhDs and our speakers to network. The event was successful in giving our PhD students a clearer strategy on how to transition out of their roles and progress into their chosen career.
We are excited to see where the next steps take them!

A special thank you to:
Lukas Schrapp (B01), Cole Bourque (A04), Gina Simon (A07), and Sandra Koska (A03)
for taking the lead in planning and hosting our PhD Career Day.
