Am 28. und 29. Mai 2020 findet an der Universität Duisburg-Essen die nächste Frühjahrstagung der DGS-Sektion Migration und ethnische Minderheiten in Kooperation mit dem InZentIM statt. Das Leitthema ist Migration und Teilhabe, unter dem eine große thematische und methodische Vielfalt willkommen ist.

Ziel der Tagung ist es, die Vielfältigkeit der aktuellen theoretischen und empirischen Forschungslandschaft zu Migration und Teilhabe in Deutschland und im internationalen Vergleich wiederzugeben. Folgende Leitfragen werden angeboten: Welche aktuellen Perspektiven verfolgt die empirische und theoretische Forschung? An welche bisherigen Konzepte und Traditionen wird angeknüpft, und was wird verworfen? Wohin müsste es eigentlich weiter gehen?
Wir laden zu dieser Tagung empirische ebenso wie theoretisch-konzeptionelle Beiträge ein, die sich mit aktuellen und zukünftigen Fragen aus dem breiten Feld der soziologischen Integrations- und Teilhabeforschung befassen. Auch multi- und interdisziplinäre Arbeiten sind willkommen.

Call for Papers for the international conference „Integration, incorporation, participation? Current perspectives on memberships in migration societies“

On 28th and 29th May 2020, the next spring meeting of the DGS Section Migration and Ethnic Minorities (in cooperation with InZentIM) will take place at the University of Duisburg-Essen. The guiding topic is migration and participation under which a wide variety of themes and methods is welcome.

The conference aims at reflecting the diversity of the current theoretical and empirical research landscape on participation and migration in Germany and in international comparison. The following guiding questions are offered: Which current perspectives does empirical and theoretical research pursue? Which previous concepts and traditions are being taken up and what is being rejected? Where should we actually go from here?

We invite empirical as well as theoretical-conceptual contributions to this conference, which deal with current and future questions from the broad field of sociological integration and participation research. Multi- and interdisciplinary papers are also welcome.
