The authors, Sylvia Walby and Karen Shire, argue for an integrated view on trafficking not only as an issue of crime, but nested in multiple regimes of inequality, pleading for a solid regulation of the economy, better welfare, and social protections. The introduction to the main arguments of the book by the authors, is followed by a discussion of the book from different disciplinary perspectives by commentators Kristin Platt, Miriam Rehm and Brigitte Young.
