IFIP TC 7 Conference on System Modelling and Optimization

During the week from July 23 to 27, 2018, the international conference of the IFIP (International Federation for Information Processing) TC 7 (Technical Committee 7) takes place in Essen.

Every two years this conference offers a rich program focussing on current research in the following areas: optimization with differential equations, inverse problems, mathematical modelling and numerical simulation. Besides plenary lectures by well-known experts on a number of topics with connections to mathematical optimization, plenty of minisymposia organized by junior researchers will take place.

The organisation committee, headed by Christian Clason from the Faculty of Mathematics of UDE, expects around 200 scientists from all over the world. As site of the meeting Essen finds itself in a row with such attractive cities as Nice, Klagenfurt, Berlin, Buenos Aires, Krakow and Turin.
