Summer school on Geometric Aspects of the Langlands Correspondence
From August 25 to 29, 2025, a Summer school on Geometric Aspects of the Langlands Correspondence will take place in Essen. Dima Arinkin and Linus Hamann will teach mini-courses, and we also expect to have a couple of research talks. Registration is now open!
Research Training Group 2553 will be continued
The German Research Foundation DFG has decided that our Research Training Group 2553 “Symmetries and classifying spaces: analytic, arithmetic and derived” will be funded for a second period of four and a half years, until March 2029. The next 5 doctoral positions have been filled as early as October 2024.
Irwin Yousept scout for Henriette Herz programme
In the Henriette Herz programme of the Humboldt Foundation, Professor Dr. Irwin Yousept has been appointed as the first scout at the University of Duisburg-Essen.
How mathematics decodes the hidden
Inverse problems and their applications are being researched by Dr. Yi-Hsuan Lin from the National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University (Taiwan). He is a guest of Prof. Dr. Irwin Yousept in the Department of Mathematics for 18 months. Lin's stay is funded by a research fellowship for experienced researchers in the Humboldt Foundation’s Henriette Herz Scouting Program.
