Our advisory services
Our advisory services are designed for current and prospective students with disabilities and/or chronic illnesses.
We provide comprehensive advice on matters such as:
- hardship requests (Härtefallanträge) (Stiftung für Hochschulzulassung)
- study and examination accommodations
- mapping out your study plan
- implementing measures to compensate for disadvantages
What we do not provide
The Inclusion Officer does not provide legal advice.
They are not permitted to intervene in ongoing court or administrative proceedings and have no authority to issue instructions to the University. Therefore, they cannot order specific decisions to be taken or altered. However, in individual cases, they can ask that the facts of the case be reviewed if the person affected requests this in writing.
The Consultation Office for the Inclusion of Students with Disabilities and Chronic Illnesses does not itself have any funds that can be used to support projects or individuals. It can, however, help with the search for suitable sources of funding available from the University of Duisburg-Essen if necessary.
