Due to the rising demand for more computing performance it is necessary to find new ways to decrease the energy consumption of computer systems, especially in the area of High-Performance Computing. This can be achieved by using different types of processors in a server architecture, but makes the development of software for this kind of hardware a challenging task. The FiPS project aims at creating a methodology to reduce the development effort. The FiPS methodology analyses the application that should be deployed on such a server to split it up and deploy different parts of it onto the different processor types, where that part is calculated most efficiently. This project has received funding from the European Union's Seventh Framework Programme for research, technological development and demonstration under grant agreement no 609757.
