Description

The lecture (as part of PO 2019 - https://www.uni-due.de/iw/de/studium/modulhandbuch19.php) provides a comprehensive introduction to all essential subjects and processes within a company. In compact lecture units, various decison problems are structured according to business functions in a company and dealt with from a management-oriented point of view. In addition to an overview of all sub-areas of business administration, the students gain an orientation for the choice of the specialisation in business administration in the third semester.

Learning goals

The students understand the essential terminology of business administration and can transfer basic concepts to current issues in entrepreneurial practice. They

  • know the tasks of business administration

  • can characterise companies,

  • are familiar with the basic functions of business administration

  • can apply basic business administration models to case studies

  • understand that individual business decisions need to be coordinated with each other through business strategies.
