Supply Chain Management covers the design and management of interconnected, value-adding processes across company boundaries, with the goal of meeting the actual demands of the end customers. In this lecture, quantitative models and methods for planning and optimising supply chains and corporate networks are introduced and applied to case studies of practical relevance. A particular focus is placed on managing uncertainty in planning and on strategies for enhancing the resilience of value chains. Contents:

Examination requirements:
In the Master's program in Industrial Engineering, the Chair of Business Administration and Production Management offers two lectures and a seminar. For the study profile "Production Management," all three courses (totaling 15 ECTS) must be chosen. The lectures Supply Chain Management (SCM - POM 1) and Plant and Energy Industry (AEWi - POM 2) are designed so that they can also be taken by students from other Master's programs in the Faculty of Engineering as elective business administration modules in any order. For students according to PO24, the SCM course is offered with 5 ECTS and 3 contact hours per week (SWS). For students according to PO19, the SCM course will be offered for the last time in the summer semester of 2025 with 4 ECTS. Starting from the winter semester of 2025/26, the lectures SCM (POM 1) and Plant and Energy Industry (POM 2) will each comprise 5 ECTS. |
