With this vibratome we can produce thin sections of fresh or fixed tissue even in case of difficult materials and heterogenous samples by using a vibrating blade. This effectively allows to minimise artifacts like compression or distorsion. The obtained sections then are further processed e.g., with the ultramicrotome.
