Evaluation of CXCR2 ligands during neutrophil-mediated inflammatory responses

In this project, we seek to investigate the role of CXCR2 ligands during different neutrophil-mediated inflammatory responses such as invasive pulmonary aspergillosis, a severe fungal infection of the lungs, ischemic stroke, and peritonitis in different murine models. While the CXCR2 ligands which contribute to the recruitment of neutrophils to the site of inflammation were already unraveled, little is known about the production sites of these ligands and the time point of secretion after occurrence of the inflammation. To tackle these questions, we will utilize cutting edge imaging, multiparameter flow cytometry, as well as gene and protein expression analysis.
