P5: targeting extracellular vesicles
Signal transfer of RIC in patients undergoing coronary artery bypass grafting
Remote Ischemic Conditioning (RIC) by brief episodes of I/R in limbs before sustained myocardial I/R is a non-invasive strategy protecting the myocardium from irreversible I/R injury in patients undergoing interventional or surgical coronary revascularization.

Objectives
Gathering a more detailed understanding of RIC to optimize it application in clinical practice. Specific objectives are:
- To identify RIC´s signal transduction from the periphery to the heart
- To charactized RIC´s signaling within the myocardium (vasculature vs. cardiomyocytes)
- To assess RIC´s impact on coronary vasomotion/coronary microvascular obstruction
