For the Annual Retreat of RTG 2989 our vibrant research community gathered for two days of scientific exchange, collaboration, and reflection from Nov 7-8 2025 in Wermelskirchen.

Our PhD and MD students presented their latest findings from their projects within our three research areas immune cells, vascular cells and cardiomyocytes— highlighting the diversity and innovation within the RTG.

We were pleased to welcome Dr. Alpaslan Tasdogan, Prof. Derek Yellon, and Prof. Christoph Friedrich, whose insights inspired engaging discussions on translational research, metabolism, and the future of AI in medicine.
