24.04.2025"DGK-Jahrestagung" and Joint Meeting with the CRC 1550

A group of our PhD and MD candidates had the chance to attend the 91st annnual meeting of the "Deutsche Gesellschaft für Kardiologie – Herz- und Kreislaufforschung e.V." in Mannheim.  During an internal meeting with the CRC 1550 "Molecular Circuits of Heart Disease" they presented their work, discussed future directions, and explored exciting new synergies for cardiovascular research. Beyond the internal session, they supported peers from both the lab and the clinic by attending talks and poster presentations. The students returned with fresh perspectives and new research ideas.

01.04.2025Excursion to the Leibniz-Institut für Analytische Wissenschaften ISAS e.V.

A group of our PhD students had the exciting opportunity to visit the ISAS in Dortmund! The day was filled with insightful talks, giving us a deeper understanding of the research of our collaboration partners. We also had an amazing lab tour at ISAS City and ISAS Campus, where we explored the Imaging Facility and got a close look at cutting-edge mass spectrometry devices.To wrap up the day, we enjoyed a great get-together, discussing projects and future collaboration opportunities.

We closed the year with a kick-off follow-up meeting that showcased not only fascinating initial research results but also inspiring new collaborations. The event provided exceptional opportunities for PhD and MD candidates to present their research and receive constructive feedback to refine their objectives, exchange knowledge and learn new methods, gaining fresh perspectives for their work.

24.06.2024Kickoff-Meeting

The Kickoff-Meeting of the Research Training Group 2989 was held in the Hotel Franz in Essen-Steele on 24th June 2024. All members came together to celebrate the official start of the Research Training Group. After a warm welcome by the speaker Prof. Rassaf, there was a lively exchange between principal investigators and students including lectures, workshops and poster presentations. All 11 projects, the according established methodologies and the organisation of the Research Training Group were presented. During a city tour and a come together in the evening, there was the opportunity to get to know each other better and to continue discussions about the projects. We are looking forward to an inspiring and successful joint work within the Research Training Group and the resulting remarkable results!
