PhD Project

Technology and international ordering.
A process tracing of selected case studies of international space policy and space governance.

[working title]

The PhD project attempts to capture the interconnectedness between disruptive technologies on processes of ordering. It uses a number of case studies on spaceflight and space policy, particularly the development and testing of space weapons, particularly direct ascent anti-satellite (DA-ASAT), the changing environment of space launches in relation the the emergence of New Space, and the discussion on Space Traffic Management (STM).

Teaching

Arne Sönnichsen teaches Introduction in International Relations and Fundamentals in Research to prospective teachers. In the BA Political Science he teaches Global Sustainable Development, and New Technolgoies and their effect on War and Peace and Spaceflight. He advances his teachings skills continously with the NRW certification „Professionelle Lehrkompetenz für die Hochschule“.
