Promotionsprojekt „Marx, Nietzsche und der Eurozentrismus“ (Joshua Stahl)

Die Promotion untersucht die Mitwirkung zweier der wirkmächtigsten deutschen Philosophen am eurozentrischen Denken, Karl Marx und Friedrich Nietzsche. Zum Gegenstand nimmt sie sich Textkomplexe zur globalen Kulturgeschichte und -anthropologie aus Marx’ später und Nietzsches mittlerer Schaffensphase, d. h. aus den Jahren 1878 bis 1882, der unmittelbaren Vorphase der aktiven deutschen Kolonialpolitik. Bei beiden erscheint die eurozentrische ‚Geo-Graphie‘ mitunter nicht fixiert, sondern in sich widersprüchlich oder gar dezentriert. An anderen Stellen festigt sie sich dafür umso stärker. So lässt sich demonstrieren, wie die europäische Philosophie heute gelesen werden sollte: problemorientiert in der Auswahl der Texte, ambiguitätstolerant in ihrer Bewertung. Die Arbeit positioniert sich in der gegenwärtigen Kanon-Debatte als methodischer Aufruf zu einer kritischen wie diskurssensitiven ‚Hermeneutik der Mehrdeutigkeit‘.
