Borrowing: do it yourself

In all branch libraries, you borrow your media yourself at our terminals for self checkout. To do so, you will need your library card number or your university ID and your PIN.

Borrowing by an authorised person

You can authorise a person to borrow or collect media.
The following requirements must be met:

  • Your library card and a signed certificate of authority has to be presented.
  • The certificate of authority has to contain the name of the authorised person.
  • It is only valid for one borrowing transaction.
  • The authorisedperson has to present a photo id.

Borrowing by UDE employees

UDE academics can authorise an assistant to borrow and collect required literature for a limited period of time.

Please note:

  • The authorisation must contain the name of the authorised person and a time limit.
  • The account holder's library card must be presented when borrowing items.
  • The authorised person must provide photo identification.
