Providing literature for students online and on campus

The University Library currently offers two platforms through which you can provide students with specific reading material for your course:
Leganto and Semester collections online.

On both platforms, you can

  • structure content using sections and headings,
  • include books through a catalogue search,
  • submit a digitisation request for book extracts or journal articles to the University Library,
  • select printed books to be placed on-site in a physical semester collection,
  • upload your own materials,
  • link to external online sources.

Leganto

What is Leganto?
A quick and clear-cut compilation of literature and resources

Leganto is a web-based tool for creating and managing reading lists for teaching.

You can search the extensive collection in our Primo catalogue, which includes hundreds of millions of academic articles and e-books, add titles using their DOI or ISBN, or import them from reference management software.

Direct link between the literature list and the course content

Physical semester collections
Making books available on site at the library

You have the option of having print media from the University Library’s collection arranged separately in a physical semester collection for your course, available on site in the library.

Each semester collection has a physical location / an allocated shelf in the selected branch library. The books in a semester collection are not available for loan and are therefore securely available to your students for on-site use.

In Leganto, simply mark the desired titles with the tag for the relevant branch library where you wish your semester collection to be placed. The new location is also shown in the display in Primo.

Help and contact
Directly via Leganto or by email

You can get in touch with the library easily and straightforwardly, directly from within Leganto. Please feel free to use the chat function in Leganto.

Semester collections online

Semester Collections Online
Uploading of literature independently, allocation of reading keys

Via our web-based platform "Semesterapparate online", you can apply for a semester collection yourself. You assign a reading key, which your students can use to access the materials after logging in with their university ID.

You can upload your own files, journal articles, book extracts, etc.

In the case of a purely online collection, only references to literature are provided; in other words, NO books are made available in the library.
