Welcome to the Welcome Service for International Researchers of the University of Duisburg-Essen
We offer services for international researchers (doctoral students, Post-Docs and senior researchers) as well as their host chairs. We support you in preparing and carrying out your stay at the University of Duisburg-Essen (UDE). We help you with all organisational aspects of your stay at the university and in Germany.

Language Course: Basics of the German Language
September 2024
We are pleased to announce that we will offer our Basic German language course again. The course is designed for complete beginners and will give you the opportunity to acquire basic knowledge of the German language in order to master simple situations in everyday life in Germany.

Refugee Researchers from Ukraine

For Postdoctoral Researchers Affected by the War in Ukraine and BeyondCall for Applications: Fedor Stepun Fellowship - 6-months Postdoc Fellowships
The Zimin Foundation provides financial resources to fund the “Fedor Stepun Fellowship Program”. With this, we can support postdoctoral researchers affected by the war in Ukraine and beyond.
The program provides eight (8) postdoctoral fellowships for researchers from all scientific fields who were forced to leave their countries due to political persecution in regard to the ongoing war in Ukraine. The duration of each fellowship is 6 months. Each of the eight fellowships is endowed with 2,000 € per month.
