Our home is the Ruhr area, but we are still international. True to our motto "Open-minded thinking", we are at home in Germany and recognised throughout the world. This is important, because science conducted at a university is only conceivable in an international context and only as an internationally oriented university can we live up to our mission in teaching and research,

And what could be more important and more beautiful than exchanging ideas across borders and cultures and engaging in dialogue with other universities, students, staff* and scientists*? Exactly: nothing

Central Contact Point for International Contacts

Our International Office is the central service facility for international contacts. It looks after foreign students, doctoral candidates and prospective students, advises on admission and enrollment issues and allocates study places to foreign applicants. It is the contact point for UDE students who want to study abroad or are looking for scholarships to study abroad. It helps international guest researchers and inviting institutes to overcome bureaucratic obstacles and everyday problems. It offers support to professors, research areas or departments in concluding university cooperations, in establishing contacts with partner universities and in international projects.
