Research Units

A research unit is a group of several scientists set up for a medium-term and is promoted by the German Research Foundation. The scientists work together on a particular research task, while the sponsorship helps to provide the necessary personnel and material for close, medium-term (normally six years) cooperation. Research units often help to establish new research directions.
