I am a postdoctoral researcher at the Institute of Sociology, University of Duisburg-Essen, in the Research and Teaching Unit of Macro-Sociology and Transnational Processes led by Prof. Dr Anja Weiß. My research examines how biographical trajectories, institutional settings and transnational inequalities shape access, belonging, mobility and practices of solidarity.

My work combines biographical and narrative sociology with comparative research and methodological innovation. I work with the Biographic Narrative Interpretive Method (BNIM), the Documentary Method, visual and mixed-methods approaches, and computational methods for qualitative analysis.

At UDE, I develop transparent and accountable approaches to large language model (LLM)-supported analysis of narrative and biographical data on global inequalities. AI is treated as an aid to human interpretation, with particular emphasis on contextual sensitivity, interpretive responsibility, validation, bias assessment and traceable analytical decisions.

Before joining UDE in April 2026, I conducted my doctoral research in Sociology at University College Dublin under the supervision of Dr Marta Eichsteller. My thesis, Shared Spaces, Shared Stories, uses biographical narrative interviews with Dublin- and Munich-based hosts of displaced Ukrainians to examine how socio-historical contexts and life-course trajectories shape forms of bounded cosmopolitan solidarity. I hold an MSc in Comparative Social Change with first-class honours from University College Dublin and Trinity College Dublin, and a BBA in Global Project and Change Management, awarded cum laude, from Windesheim University of Applied Sciences.

• Global inequalities and AI-supported qualitative methods (UDE, since 2026): Development and evaluation of transparent LLM-supported workflows for comparative biographical and documentary analysis.

• Shared Spaces, Shared Stories (University College Dublin): Comparative biographical research on how Dublin- and Munich-based residents came to share their homes with displaced Ukrainians, and how solidarity is accumulated, transformed and bounded across the life course.

My teaching areas include qualitative and visual methods, sociological theory, global and transnational inequality, technology and digital society, and academic research skills. At UDE, my 2026 teaching includes Qualitative Visual Analysis in Social Research and Modern Technology and Inequality: Sociological Perspectives on the Digital Present. Courses in Foundations of Sociology and Scientific Research are scheduled for the 2026/27 winter semester.
