Disruptions from 6 pmDefusing of an unexploded bomb near the Duisburg campus
During exploratory work on the A40, a 250-kilogram bomb from the Second World War was found today alongside the ‘Ruhrdeich’ road in Duisburg-Duissern. The unexploded bomb is expected to be defused today (30 April 2026) at 7 pm. As a result, the A3 and A40 motorways, among others, will be closed. Significant traffic disruption is therefore expected from this afternoon onwards.
