Why we enjoy things we feel ashamed of
Watching reality TV, or spontaneously booking a cheap flight – many people are familiar with “guilty pleasures”, which seem like a phenomenon of the present. However, a new interdisciplinary research project shows that ambivalent moments of enjoyment have a long history.

Seeing with Different Eyes
Around 20 photographs by UDE students are featured in the exhibition “Seeing with Different Eyes,” portraying children who inspire with their joy for life despite illness or premature birth. On view until May 28, 2026, at Novitas BKK in Duisburg.
