Postdocs | Workshops, events, mentoring
Key qualifications for your (research) career
During the postdoc phase, you will set the course for your future career path. Our offers support you in preparing for the next steps in the best possible way – regardless of whether you are aiming for a career in academia, a job in science management, a position in business, or employment in a non-governmental organisation.
In addition to expertise in your field of research, competencies such as communication skills, teamwork abilities, or self-management skills are important for your academic and personal development. The same applies to growing interdisciplinary networks and exchanging experiences with fellow researchers. This is why we offer most of our workshops, career and networking events for postdocs jointly with our partner universities as part of the Research Academy Ruhr.

The Karriereforum takes place twice a year (spring/fall) with changing topics.

- Communicating, networking, negotiating
- Acquiring third-party funds
You are a postdoc now, what comes next? Ask your questions about career opportunities beyond academia and discuss with representatives from the private sector, industry, public service, foundations, and non-profit organizations in a casual atmosphere during this annual exchange.
The Wirtschaftskolleg takes place every year in November.
mentoring³ for female postdoctoral researchers
Experienced researchers will accompany you as mentors, advise you on career planning questions, and share their tacit knowledge of the academic world.
