Are you a doctoral student looking to do further research for your dissertation in the U.S.? If so, the Fulbright Doctoral Program might be just right for you!

The Fulbright Doctoral Program supports doctoral students during research stays in the United States.
The scholarship is intended for doctoral students who have demonstrated excellence in their studies or research and who wish to contribute to academic and cultural exchange between Germany and the United States through their commitment.

Funding is available for research stays lasting between four and six months.

Scholarship Benefits

• A monthly allowance of 2,400 euros to cover living expenses (for a maximum of 6 months)
• Participation in the Accident and Sickness Program for Exchanges (ASPE)
• Free Fulbright J-1 visa
• Participation in the Fulbright Berlin Seminar from April 22–25, 2027

You’ll also become part of the international Fulbright network and gain valuable intercultural experience.
An allowance for living expenses may also be available for accompanying family members.
