Teaching abroad

Are you a student looking to do a paid teaching internship abroad? Then the "Fremdsprachenassistenz-Programm" (Foreign Language Assistant Program) offered by the "Pädagogische Austauschdienst" (Pedagogical Exchange Service) is just right for you.

The "Pädagogische Austauschdienst" (Pedagogical Exchange Service) is once again supporting students, especially but not exclusively students who are studying to become teachers, who wish to complete a paid teaching internship abroad through the "Fremdsprachenassistenz-Programm" (Foreign Language Assistant Program).

For more than 120 years now, the FSA Program has been supporting students and graduates during their stays abroad.

Benefits for participants:

  • Improved foreign language skills
  • Practical experience in teaching methods and pedagogy
  • Intercultural exchange
  • Contribution to Germany’s Foreign Cultural and Educational Policy (AKBP) for the promotion of the German language and culture
  • Financial support: subsidy for living expenses (between 790 and 3,400 euros, depending on the host country/host institution)
  • Recognition as a study abroad experience by many colleges and universities
